Over 90% of the world’s supply of Pink Diamonds were sourced at the Argyle Mine in Western Australia, yet just 0.1% of the mine’s total production was pink. There has never been another location in the world that has unearthed diamonds with such vibrant and beautiful colours as the Argyle Diamond mine. ARGYLE PINK DIAMONDS A STORY OF EXCEPTIONAL RARITY The Teaspoon Only the very best diamonds qualify to be considered Tender Diamonds and they are exceptionally rare. To qualify for the Argyle Tender, each diamond is evaluated after the gem is cut and polished. It is then assessed for hue, saturation and colour. They represent less than 0.01% of the diamonds ever unearthed from the Argyle Mine. It would take an entire year’s production of Argyle Tender Diamonds to fill a teaspoon. As the largest Fancy Red Diamond in the penultimate 2020 Argyle Signature Tender, Ayano is mesmerising. With a stunning grade of Fancy Red from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and achieving the coveted Purplish Red grade from Argyle Pink Diamonds, Ayano was the only Diamond in this historic Signature Tender to be graded red by both of the world's leading authorities. Ayano is a 0.74ct radiant cut Argyle Diamond of incomparable rarity. Red is revered as the ultimate colour grade for an Argyle Diamond and is the most highly prized collectible diamond colour in the world. Only thirty-five Fancy Red Diamonds have ever been presented in the history of the Argyle Tender, which spans over three decades. With the closure of the mine in 2020 there will be no more. At 0.64ct and an extremely rare ‘vivid’ colour grade of Fancy Vivid Purplish-Pink, Tesora is truly one of nature’s greatest treasures. She is also one of the rarest Argyle Tender Diamonds as those graded with a ‘vivid’ colour grade only account for 11% of all Argyle Tender Diamonds. No other mine in the world has had diamonds with such a saturated pink colour as the Argyle Diamond mine and that colour is unique to its Australian origins. Tesora’s stunning colour is a true reflection of her natural Australian heritage. She is graded as a rare Fancy Vivid Purplish-Pink by The Gemological Institute of America and as a stunning 4PP by Argyle Pink Diamonds. John Calleija reflects on his first time meeting Tesora, “Not only did we want Tesora because of her rare colour, but she was a special favourite because of her fire and her shape. She has so much life in her.” Facetted into a beautiful and feminine cushion cut, Tesora dazzles like no other. Inspired by the gradual increase in her colour intensity, the Petit Crescendo suite features ten outstanding pear-shaped Argyle Tender Diamonds totalling 1.24ct. Not only do each of these ten Argyle Tender Diamonds share the same unique pear shape, they are nearly identical in their size and weight. To find ten pear-shaped Argyle Diamonds, with each one representing a single hue from the Argyle pink colour palette, has been a long-awaited victory. It has taken the Argyle Diamond mine over five years to curate this remarkable collection featuring such rare colours, identical sizes, shapes and beauty. Ranging from a blushing 9P Pink to an amazing Red, the range of colour in Petit Crescendo is as scarce as she is sought after.
